Roxie, shown here at age 2, is a Labrador Retriever, owned, trained and loved by Diane
Sanderbeck. Roxie obtained her AKC Companion Dog Title (CD) at age 2 and her Companion
Dog Excellent Title (CDX) at age 4 with first place ribbons. Roxie had a freak accident
in 1996 in which she ruptured 2 discs while fetching a tennis ball. She was rushed to the
Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida and under their expert care has
made a remarkable recovery. Roxie is almost ten years old.
Diane is the backbone of the Lowndes-Valdosta Humane Society. Under her great leadership,
we will be breaking ground on a new shelter in the near future. Roxie has a playmate named
Casey, a golden retriever mix, who was rescued by Diane. Her manners are almost as impeccable as Roxie's.
