Dental Health Month We are looking forward to September which is Dental Health Month at AHC. A healthy mouth is so important for a pet's physical and emotional well being. They can't tell us that their gums are sore and that is hurts to eat, so a good dental exam is a major part of their overall health. During the month of September, teeth cleanings at AHC are discounted 15%. Our routine teeth cleanings include a sedative, probing the gums for pockets, ultrasonic scaling of the tooth face and up under the gums, polishing the tooth and a fluoride treatment. Some owners prefer to have their pet sedated with a gas anesthesia which enables the pet to awaken more quickly for a faster recovery time. We may also recommend some laboratory testing to find pets that may be at risk for health problems.

We are also proud to have a new dental x-ray machine that will be used to aid in diagnosis and treatment of tooth and bone problems. The x-ray machine is identical to one used by human dentists. Ask to see it at your next visit.
