The lush green lawn, colorful flowers, custom brick borders and sign appointments
are back dropped by a towering canopy of two bradford pear trees at the rear
of the parking lot. Another eye catching feature is a wooden cat perched on
the mailbox surrounded by flowering shrubs and border plants. There is even
a strategically placed fire hydrant
for some quick relief for those anxious canines.
With a well illuminated parking lot the entrance and exit from the hospital
it is not difficult to see in the day or night. As the solid oak leaded glass
door leads you into the foyer, a decision can be made to enter the separate
cat waiting area or the opposite door to the room especially decorated for
dogs. The open area divided by a five foot high cedar wall has vaulted cedar
ceilings, skylights, cushioned seating and a brass fan slow spinning it's breeze
throughout the room. Each side of the open reception area is decorated with
wall paper, beautiful wall hangings and personal items of interest for dogs
or cats depending on which side of the room you enter.
The smiling face of one of two receptionists will greet you as soon as you enter the room. The counters are large and open for easy communication. Our fully computerized office minimizes your waiting time. Once you are personally guided into one of three examination rooms you can rest with your pet and family on cushioned seating while listening to soft background music. The wallpaper and oak cabinets give you a warm feeling of home. As the receptionist exits the room she starts a timer that reminds us how long you have been in the room to keep your waiting time to a minimum.
The examination and explanations of the findings for your pet generally take approximately thirty minutes. The time enables the doctors to fully explain the examination findings and answer all of your questions without being rushed. In fact we are insistent on good communication so we have a resting stool for the doctor so everyone in the room can be relaxed. Once the visit is over you are only a few steps away from checking out with all information already on the computer and medication and supplies ready for you to take home. The exit door quickly opens and you are back into the parking lot.
For pets that need to stay in the hospital for the day a well equipped pharmacy
is directly behind the examination rooms. This area is where all the commonly
used medications are stored and prepared for your pet's health. An adjacent
laboratory with state of the art equipment can handle most emergencies and laboratory
blood analysis. The microscope is equipped with a camera and viewing screen
so that you can see what we see under the microscope.
The treatment area is a large multi-function room where most of the hospital medical duties are performed. The large treatment area is equipped with an electric lift table for large dogs, anesthesia monitoring equipment, dental equipment, and intensive care areas. Adjacent to this room is a sterile modern surgical suite with emergency lighting and three different types of patient monitoring equipment. Many pet owners tell us that our surgery room is nicer than many human hospitals. Also adjacent to the treatment room is the radiology department with X-ray equipment and automatic processing so that results of your pets x-rays can be reported promptly. A veterinary radiology specialist comes once a month to do special procedures and read every x-ray we take. Our commitment to excellence shows again by offering only the best for our patients.
The medical wards house all of our patients that do not need intensive care. This room is divided into areas for large and small dogs. With tiled walls and floors, separate heating and cooling, and ceiling fans, this room is not only attractive but very clean.
The lodging center is our special home away from home for your pets. Once you
enter the exquisite side lighted oak entranceway it will be obvious this is not
just a "kennel". Not only is the reception room for the lodging center
a beautiful area but all areas for dogs and cats can be visualized through glass
windows in the reception area. The large play area for cats with a carpeted
climbing tree is the focal point of the room. Cats love looking out the picture
window in their play area or just lounging around on the cat tree. The large
exercise areas for dogs are beneath wooden ceilings, brass fans, and skylights.
Personalized hand walking of the dogs in the fenced in play area is a nice outing
but they are excited about getting back into their heated and air conditioned
rest areas.
With many special services offered to all pets, this home away from home is
truly a vacation for all the family.
